Nut-Free Fat Bombs

Serves: ~ 25 balls


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ground flax (flax meal)

  • 1 cup hemp hearts

  • Β½ cup cacao (or sub cocoa powder)

  • β…“ cup raw honey (or sub maple syrup)

  • β…” cup sunflower seed butter 

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • Β½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut (chopped small)


Directions:

  1. Add hemp hearts to food processor and pulse until a fine consistency
  2. Add in flax meal and pulse to mix
  3. Add in remainder of ingredients except for the shredded coconut and pulse until fully mixed
  4. With wet hands, roll into small balls and then roll each around in the shredded coconut to coat
  5. Place in freezer for best storage option to keep fresh. Will keep fresh in the fridge for up to 4 days (if they'll last that long!).

These are such a great option as a replacement in kid's lunches! Since they use sunflower seed butter, they are nut-free, but you can also replace with your favourite nut butter if you don't have a need to go nut-free. The flax and hemp can also be replaced for 1 cup almond meal if you want to change it up.
